What you need, and how safe it is.
In short
Got a Windows 10 or 11 PC with an NVIDIA, AMD or Intel graphics card? Add a screen, keyboard and mouse for each person and you're ready. Hydra installs like any Windows app, with a driver signed through Microsoft, and keeps Secure Boot on.
What you need
- Windows 10 and 11 (x64).
- A graphics card from NVIDIA, AMD or Intel.
- For each person, a screen, a keyboard and a mouse.
- Game controllers, headsets and webcams work too: give each seat its own.
Do I need a new PC?
No. Hydra runs on your current PC. Office work and video are light, and games use your graphics card at full speed. Start the free 7-day trial and see it on your own PC.
Is it safe to install?
Yes. Hydra installs like any Windows app, and its driver is signed through Microsoft's driver program. Secure Boot and BitLocker stay on, and there is nothing to change in the BIOS. While Hydra is installed, setup turns off Memory Integrity (Windows' Core isolation setting); removing Hydra puts it back the way it was. Setup creates a System Restore point first, and uninstalling gives you back an ordinary Windows PC.
Hydra is built to protect your PC. If anything ever goes wrong, it gets out of the way by itself:
- Off means off. Turn Hydra off, or uninstall it, and the PC is an ordinary Windows PC again, with every screen back.
- Safe start. If Windows fails to start twice in a row, the next start comes up with Hydra off.
- Crash guard. If a start crashes, the next one comes up with it off.
- Emergency off key. A key combination turns it off for the next restart, from any seat's keyboard.
- Recovery file. One command from Windows' recovery screen turns it off, even if nothing else works.
