Each device belongs to a seat.

Keyboards, mice and game controllers go straight to their own seat, as real devices that work with your programs and games. A seat never gets access to another seat's.

Straight to the right seat

Hydra marks each keyboard, mouse and controller with the seat it belongs to. Windows then gives the device only to that seat. There are no virtual keyboards or mice in between: programs talk to the real device, the same as on a PC of their own.

Handing a device to another seat

In the panel, drag a device to another seat, or pick the seat for it. The change happens at once, without restarting the PC or unplugging anything.

To claim a new keyboard or mouse, press the seat's letter on the keyboard, or click both mouse buttons at the same time, when the panel asks.

If you hand away the keyboard or mouse you are using, the panel asks Keep these changes? and gives the device back by itself after 15 seconds if nobody answers (see the control panel).

Devices with no seat

A device that you have not given to a seat is shown as unassigned in the panel. It works on the seat named in Unassigned input in Settings, Seat 1 unless you change it, or on no seat at all. A device you disabled in Windows stays disabled.

The input auto-fix

If a device stops reaching its seat, Hydra fixes it for you, trying up to 3 times. This is the Fix input automatically setting. Turn it off and Hydra only warns you.
